Air Fryer Potatoes and Onions

Easy and super tasty, these air fryer potatoes and onions are a great versatile side dish. Well seasoned, tender and cooked to perfection with crispy edges, they're a delicious addition to breakfast, lunch or dinner and ready in less than 30 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pound potatoes peeled, 1-inch cubed, about 2-4 potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon oil avocado, olive oil, or of choice
  • 1 large yellow onion sliced
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika more or less to taste
  • ½ teaspoon salt more or less to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper more or less to taste
  • fresh parsley chopped, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer at 395° Fahrenheit. Mix all the spices together.

  • Add the cubed potatoes to a large bowl (keep onions to the side), toss them in the oil, then sprinkle the spices and stir well, until all coated.

  • Spray the hot air fryer with spray cooking oil, then add the seasoned potatoes. Cook for 6-7 minutes, shaking the basket half way.

  • While the potatoes are in the air fryer, add the onions to the same bowl, stir to get all the leftover spices (you can add a little more seasoning if you'd like).

  • After 6-7 minutes add the onions to the potatoes, spray a little more cooking oil, then shake the basket well. Cook for 12-14 more minutes or until the potatoes are tender when poked with a fork, and onions have a crispy edges, shaking the basket every 5 minutes.

  • Once ready, remove the potatoes and onions, sprinkle a little salt and pepper, fresh herbs like parsley, and serve as you wish. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Don't cut the onions too small or they might fall in the cracks of your air fryer tray.
  • If you double the recipe, depending on the size of your air fryer, , I would recommend cooking the potatoes and onions in batches. If you overcrowd the air fryer, the potatoes won't get crispy edges.
  • Cooking time will vary by a few minutes depending on your air fryer as each model is unique, as well as the size of the potato cubes.
