    Why You'll love this recipe

    • It's a delicious quick and easy meal. The air fryer tortilla pizza is literally ready to eat in 5 minutes, perfect for a busy weeknight dinner, a quick lunch served with a side green salad, or even a late night snack.
    • You can customize it so many different ways by switching up toppings on the tortilla, sauce and cheese base. Cheesy with a crunchy crust and so satisfying like a quesadilla.
    • The kids love it! They're personal sized, so fun to make together with the family for a pizza party with minimal cleanup!

    Key Ingredients and variations

    • Tortilla: you need a taco size tortilla that fits in your air fryer basket. I use a regular flour, it crisps up really well, but you can use any tortilla you prefer like a grain-free, gluten-free, low-carb...
    • Pizza sauce: I prefer to use pizza sauce over marinara only because it's already seasoned and usually smoother, but you can absolutely use marinara too. If so, I would add a little Italian or pizza seasoning.
    • Shredded cheese: I use freshly shredded mozzarella for this one, you can use Italian mix too.
    • Toppings: pepperoni, olives, mushrooms, basil... anything you like on pizza. Just make sure you don't load it too much so it doesn't become soggy or hard to remove from the air fryer basket. I also would avoid item that are watery or need a long time to cook.

    Tips

    • Make sure to preheat the air fryer.
    • Don't overload your tortilla pizza with sauce or toppings. It could get soggy.
    • Try to avoid putting too many toppings towards the middle of the pizza.
    • I recommend putting the toppings on the sauce instead of on top of the cheese because if they're light they could fly around in the air fryer.
    • Keep a close eye cause air fryer tortilla pizza cooks really fast. Check it at the 1 minute mark to see where it's at. My powerful Cosori makes it in less than 2 minutes, while my other air fryer needed almost 4 minutes. The longer it cooks, the crispier the tortilla edges get.
    • I know I say it all the time, but I highly recommend shredding your own cheese. It tastes better, melts beautifully and is more budget friendly.

    frequently asked questions

    Should I use parchment paper?

While it makes it easier to clean and remove from the air fryer, I just put the tortilla pizza directly in the basket. It gets a tad more crispy quicker, but both ways work.

Can I use a corn tortilla?

Yes you can, but they're brittle and can crack when they heat up. A flour tortilla, sturdy grain-free or gluten-free definitely works best for this recipe.
