- Oil: a little oil to keep the asparagus to stick to the grill. Olive oil, avocado oil or any cooking oil of choice.
- Salt and pepper: classic seasoning. You could use a multipurpose seasoning too if you'd like.
- Lemon: a little squeeze of lemon brightens the dish.
- Optional toppings: fresh parmesan and fresh herbs like parsley.

How to make
- Preheat your grill on medium-high/high.

Toss asparagus into a bowl with oil, salt and pepper until well coated.

Grill for 4-5 minutes, flip and continue grilling for 2-5 minutes or until tender depending on the size of the asparagus. Squeeze lemon and sprinkle parsley and fresh parmesan on top. Serve and enjoy!

Tips
- Choose thick asparagus for this recipe. They're better for grilling than thin ones but you can use thinner ones, just put them in a grilling basket and cook them less.
- Rinse the asparagus under cold water, and trim the woody ends by slicing them off 1 to 2 inches or snapping them off with your hands, they'll naturally break off at the right place. You can also use a vegetable peeler to peel the ends a few inches if they're very thick.
- Add red pepper flakes for heat if desired after cooking. Balsamic glaze is great with asparagus too.
